Oh hey, NYC!
Exciting announcement for 2026! I feel like I have been sitting on this news for close to forever and I’m so happy that I am able to share it with you. Drumroll, please…
I have officially been accepted into NYC Crit Club’s Canopy program! Canopy is a year-long mentorship program that combines research, critique, professional practice, and visiting artist lectures. My cohort of ten artists will be led by the esteemed visual truth-teller, badass feminist and mom, Rose Nestler. This also means that my work will be in a group show next June in Chelsea!

I’m excited to meet my cohort and hope that our shared learning and conversations can help push my work to the next level. I’m grateful for Hilary Doyle who co-founded NYC Crit Club with Catherine Haggarty. Hilary and I met way back in 2021 through the Artist Mother Crit Crew program (S/O to the incredible artists I met in that group). There were many small steps that led me here. The most important: a commitment to finding authentic art communities that share my values of transparency and equity. I know that I need community that can understand my unique experience as a female-identifying artist caretaker - a point of view that many institutions are still resistant to accommodate and incorporate.
I will be posting updates and will loop back with the June NYC show date. Until then, wish me luck, growth, and confidence; it’s time to get brave again.
